VIETNAM JARAI, Honey, CANEPHORA TR4-TR9

This Yellow Honey Robusta is a tribute to the Jarai ethnic group and their dedicated work in coffee cultivation.

Mr. Quang Senior has been closely connected to the Jarai community since the age of 14. As a student, he began teaching Vietnamese and mathematics in remote Jarai villages, and since then has felt a deep bond with this ethnic minority in Vietnam. Many of the farmers working with Tamba today come from these villages and continue to receive strong support from the company. After work, Mr. Quang Senior is often seen in the villages. He loves the food and music of the Jarai. According to his son, Quang Junior, he speaks several tribal languages that are still spoken in Vietnam’s Central Highlands today.

This coffee was processed with great care: After being hand-picked, the cherries are floated and sorted using an optical sorter. The pulp is then removed, leaving about 40–50% of the mucilage on the beans. These are spread out to dry for 15 to 20 days, during which they are regularly turned to ensure even drying. After a final visual sorting, the coffee is packed into GrainPro bags for storage.

This coffee took first place in its category at the Gia Lai Green Coffee Competition – a remarkable award for a truly special honey. We are proud to have Tamba as such a dedicated partner by our side and thank them for this exceptional coffee.
